Anticipation is high for the May release of Ron Howard’s Solo: A Star Wars Story. By now everyone on planet earth that wanted to see the Solo trailer has and from that little two-minute tease, opinion is set for what level of excitement each of us has for the upcoming second stand-alone Star Wars movie.
The helmer of the last Star Wars movie that the world devoured, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, has now seen the entire Solo flick and proudly lets the world know that we are in for one heck of a treat.
“I knew it was coming, but I was still…I was clicking, clicking, clicking, ‘yeah, yeah!’ And I think it looks so beautiful,” Johnson said.
“I can’t wait for people to see more of the film – it’s so fun, it’s so funny. The cast is so charismatic, and I think they all just did a great job with it.”
Sure, Johnson is still an employee of Lucasfilm as he has been tapped to create a brand-new trilogy outside the universe we’ve seen thus far. But, after speaking to him several times over the last several years, I can so without a doubt that he is someone who does not hold any punches when it comes to his opinion. If he did not care for what he saw in Solo, he would simply be quiet.
Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters May 25 and Johnson’s The Last Jedi will be making its blu-ray debut on March 27.
