The Girl on the Train Trailer: Blockbuster Book Hits the Big Screen

One of the most highly anticipated dramas to land this fall, The Girl on the Train, has unleashed its first trailer. Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures have sufficiently teased us to the mystery-thriller based on the bestselling book by Paula Hawkins.

The film stars Emily Blunt (Sicario) as Rachel, a woman who is still feeling the scorn of divorce from her ex-husband Tom (Justin Theroux), who has in the meantime hooked up with a new wife, Anna (Rebecca Ferguson). When Anna goes missing and the only witness to her disappearance is Rachel, authorities (led by Allison Janney) start to question her story and frankly, her motifs.

The Girl on the Train also stars Haley Bennett, Luke Evans, Lisa Kudrow, Laura Prepon and Edgar Ramirez.

The film is directed by one of our fave directors, Tate Taylor (Get on Up, The Help)  and lands in theaters October 7. Think this flick has a built-in audience? With 2 million copies sold and the fact that it sat at the top spot on the New York Times Bestseller list for 19 weeks, yeah, I’d say so.
