The latest trailer, and utterly NSFW, for Deadpool 2 has hit a grand slam. This is one of the most entertaining and pitch-perfect trailers that we have seen this year.
The first Deadpool 2 trailer was pure fourth-wall breaking and served the purpose of whetting our palettes for the upcoming sequel that hits theaters May 18. Sure, it teased the arrival of the film’s primary villain, Cable (Josh Brolin, pulling double superhero villainy duty this spring with his turn as Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War). Wait, is he not everywhere? Didn’t the trailer for Sicario: Day of the Soldado just drop this week?
Back to DP2…
The triumphant trailer starts with our favorite cabbie/Deadpool personal driver listening peacefully to Air Supply when Deadpool commences frantically running towards him in an alley. Suddenly he leaps through the cab window, scares the crap (possibly literally) out of Dopinder (Karan Soni) as he turns the engine and gets our hero out of dodge.
How’s that for commencing a two-minute-plus thrill ride?
There is a legion of X-Men universe mutants that join DP’s team, but you’re going to have to check out the trailer to see who makes the X-Force cut. Wait, what? Just watch it!
Deadpool 2 is helmed by Atomic Blonde director David Leitch and lands from a script by Rheet Reese and Paul Wernick.
The Deadpool sequel also stars T.J. Miller, Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, Leslie Uggams, Zazie Beetz and Stefan Kapacic.
