In what is essentially a warm-up act, Marvel Studios released the first poster for the upcoming addition to their Cinematic Universe, Black Panther. See, the first teaser trailer will premiere this evening during Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The poster may seem rather simple at first glance. But, it is anything but. It’s got its star, Chadwick Boeman, front and center as T’Challa, sitting on his throne. He is a man who rises to his destiny after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda. We first caught a glimpse of what could be with Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War and it left us wanting much, much more.
More on Black Panther later today as that teaser trailer will surely rock our world.
The film also stars Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, with Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker and Andy Serkis. It’s directed by Creed helmer Ryan Coogler and leaps into theaters February 16, 2018.
