Birds of Prey Trailer: Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn Goes Solo

If there was one thing that emerged from Suicide Squad that had us cheering in the aisles, is was the characterization of Harley Quinn by Oscar nominee Margot Robbie. Suits at Warner Bros. took notice too because it was announced not-too-soon after that film’s release that the beloved DC Comics villain would be getting her own film. We could not have been more thrilled.

The first trailer for Birds of Prey has landed and it is outstanding.

First of all, the full name of the film—honestly—says it all. Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn. Makes ya wonder what this puppy will be all about. One thing is for certain, prepare for Robbie to rock once again as “Daddy’s Lil’ Monster” and simultaneously serve as the inspiration for a legion of Halloween costumes!

Who joins Ms. Quinn in her group of badass women seeking to make things right? After all, the movie is called Birds of Prey, i.e. plural! Jurnee Smollett-Bell is Black Canary, Mary Elizabeth Winstead stars as Helena Bertinelli, aka Huntress, Rosie Perez is a Gotham City detective, Ella Jay Basco is Cassandra Cain, Chris Messina is bad guy Victor Zsasz and even more villainous is Ewan McGregor, who looks like he’s having the time of his life as the uber-baddie Black Mask.

In terms of what this thing is about, well, the teaser does a great job of just that—teasing! And that is just how we like it.

The film is directed by Cathy Yan and looks to further illustrate that the best thing about Suicide Squad is Harley Quinn. Look for it in theaters everywhere February 7, 2020.
