The first trailer for the final Rambo movie is here and pardon me if it doesn’t look awesome. Since his resurgence on the movie landscape with his Oscar nominated turn in Creed, Sylvester Stallone has used that mojo to restart one of his first franchises in Rambo.
Whereas the last few films found him traversing the globe, this time out our anti-hero has to fight off all of the sins of his past raining down on his formerly quiet home. Don’t worry … Rambo will be ready for this fight. In fact, as the trailer teases, this is a battle that the former Vietnam War vet has been living for this moment his entire life.
The entire Rambo universe got started on the pages of David Morrel’s 1982 book, First Blood, and then famously arrived on screens soon after. We’ve come a long way since then and as such, the war weary Rambo we meet in the teaser for Rambo: Last Blood looks quite that part. But don’t worry … he is more than ready for this fight. His entire life has led to this point.
Look for Stallone’s latest in theaters September 20. It also stars Paz Vega, Adrianna Barraza, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Yvette Monreal, Oscar jaenada, Joaquin Cosio and Genie Kim.
