There are remakes we do not need and there are remakes that warrant our full attention. Kenneth Branagh’s Murder on the Orient Express is wholeheartedly one that falls in the latter category. Agatha Christie’s pitch perfect murder mystery that was inspired by her own travels on the iconic train, headed to the silver screen in the 1970s and now returns with a cast to… well, die for. To celebrate the upcoming flick, Fox has unveiled the first poster that does something brilliant. It shows off the titular train and simply lists the cast for you to commence drooling over.
Christie’s novel first landed on the public’s consciousness when it was released in 1934 and is considered the quintessential thrilling novel that has the reader guessing around every turn as to who could possibly be the culprit in this murder.
Not only does Branagh direct, but he also stars as master sleuth Hercule Poirot. He is joined in the cast by Johnny Depp as Ratchett, Michelle Pfeifer as Mrs. Hubbard, Judi Dench as Princess Dragomirof, Daisy Ridley (The Force Awakens) as Mary Debenham, Lucy Boynton as Countess Andrenvi, Derek Jacobi as Masterman, Michael Pena as Marquez, Tom Bateman as Bouc, Josh Gad as Hector McQueen, Leslie Odom Jr. as Doctor Arbuthnot, Willem Dafoe as Mr. Hardman and Penelope Cruz in a role that has not yet been released.
Didn’t we say… what a cast?!
The producing team is also all-star as it comes from Ridley Scott (The Martian, Alien: Covenant), Simon Kinberg (The X-Men series) and Mark Gordon (Steve Jobs).
The train takes off on November 10.
