After that first Sonic the Hedgehog trailer ruffled feathers with folks feeling that the animated video game character looked uniquely odd, it appears that Paramount has gone back to the drawing board and crafted a kinder, gentler-looking Sonic.
It also pushed back the release date to accommodate for those changes, with Sonic the Hedgehog now arriving in theaters in February 14, 2020.
Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz), is an alien, who is hanging out on Earth because there are some bad guys on his home planet eager to steal his power. Then again, by the looks of the new trailer, it does not appear that things on our planet are all that more safe.
In case you couldn’t tell from his welcomed over-the-top villain performance, that’s Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik and James Marsden is Sonic’s Earth-bound pal. The pair must team up and hit the road to keep Sonic safe. Do not want Dr. Robo-what’s his name to capture Sonic’s speedy supernatural gifts.
