Mockingjay Part 2 is not the only film closing out a blockbuster YA franchise in the coming months. With the arrival of the first official The Divergent Series: Allegiant trailer, the first of the two-part final chapter of the Divergent series is now on the horizon.
The third film (of four) stars Shailene Woodley as Tris and in the first two films she brought down a dictator and saved her city. This time out, she is going beyond the wall with her band of brothers (and sisters!) and taking on the rest of this post-apocalyptic world. She meets Jeff Daniels’ David, a mysterious leader who appears to be the key to global freedom, or perhaps the exact opposite!
Ansel Elgort, Maggie Q, Zoe Kravitz, Theo James, Miles Teller, Octavia Spencer, Mekhi Phifer, Daniel Dae Kim, Keiynan Londale and Jonny Weston all return with Nadia Hilker and Bill Skarsgard joining the cast.
Look for the first part of the conclusion, Allegiant, to land on March 18, 2016, and the final film, The Divergent Series: Ascendant, set to close out the series on March 24, 2017.
