The talented trio of Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish and the always awesome Elisabeth Moss have joined forces to take on the mob in 1970s Hell’s Kitchen. The first trailer for The Kitchen has arrived and it is stunning.
Warner Bros. has unleashed the first teaser, based on the DC Vertigo comic book series, that follows the goings on of the Irish Mafia in 1978. The significant others of our titanic trio have been sent to prison and it becomes clear that although the mafia is taking care of our left on the outside wives financially, it is pale compared to what they need to even life and pay rent.
What are they to do? How about take things into their own hands. It is going to mean war because they are impeding on business that their husband’s crew used to handle. Something tells me, these ladies will do just fine. But it might get a tad messy.
What is so interesting about this flick is that it finds two wickedly talented comedic actresses taking the serious route. We know that McCarthy can do it, after all she was nominated for an Oscar for her work on last fall’s Can You Ever Forgive Me?
The Kitchen serves as the directorial debut of Andrea Berloff, who co-wrote Straight Outta Compton. Look for war to erupt on August 9.
