Lionsgate has unleashed the latest Hellboy trailer. Although it has a lot to live up to, what with it being compared to the two Guillermo del Toro films, it has something utterly enormous going for it.
Whereas del Toro had Ron Perlman, Hellboy 2019 director Neil Marshall has Stranger Things star David Harbour stepping into those satanic shoes. We adore Perlman (even did a Tequila shots with him once), but just from the first few teases it appears there is an organic fluidity with what the Stranger Things star brings to this effort.
The April 12 release also finds Ian McShane (who portrays Hellboy’s adoptive papa), Milla Jovovich is our antagonist Nimue, aka the Blood Queen. The cast is filled out with American Honey breakout Sasha Lane, Penelope Mitchell and Daniel Dae Kim (Lost).
Neil Marshall helms the fantasy/thriller from a screenplay by Andrew Cosby.
The studio has also unveiled a new Hellboy poster (above) and as someone who has never been drawn to this world, I cannot be more excited for April 12 to arrive.
