Fox has unveiled the latest trailer for The Martian and it looks simply stunning.
Matt Damon stars as an astronaut left for dead on Mars after a manned mission there goes awry. The only thing, he is very much alive and when he sends a signal saying such back to earth, his crew want nothing more than to return and save him.
But, can they?
It would take years to return to Mars and even if they could get there, he only has rations for days, not months or years. As we see from the below trailer, Damon’s scientist “sciences the (expletive)” out of Mars and makes it so he could possibly survive that long.
Ridley Scott directs The Martian, based on the bestselling novel. It also stars Jessica Chastain, Jeff Daniels, Kristen Wiig, Michael Pena, Kate Mara (Fantastic Four), Chiwetel Ejiofor and Donald Glover (Magic Mike XXL).
Look for the rescue to begin when The Martian lands in theaters October 2.
