One of our most anticipated movies of the fall, Black Mass, has released its latest TV spot that has us thinking its star may finally have his next Oscar nod.
Johnny Depp is James “Whitey” Bulger, the most notorious gangster to ever control and terrorize the streets of Boston.
Director Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart, the underrated Out of the Furnace) directs and all-star cast that brings the gangster who ruled the 70s and also doubled as an informant for the FBI. That relationship with law enforcement actually gave the criminal boss an edge up on his competitors and aided in his rule with a hammer methods.
Depp is joined in the cast by Benedict Cumberbatch, Rory Cochrane, Joel Edgerton (recently seen making his directorial debut with The Gift), Jesse Plemons, Kevin Bacon, Dakota Johnson, Corey Stoll, Peter Sarsgaard, Juno Temple and Adam Scott.
Look for Black Mass in theaters September 18.
