STX Entertainment has unveiled the first trailer for the stunning true nautical tale, Adrift.
Shailene Woodley (Divergent, The Fault in Our Stars) and Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games, Their Finest) star as lovers who find each other on the other side of the planet and accept a challenge of sailing together all the way to California. Along the way, one of the most destructive hurricanes in history lies in their path and leaves them decimated and deathly alone.
After the storm, Tami (Woodley) comes to on the boat and discovers Richard (Claflin) seriously injured. Their boat is practically destroyed. They are not on any airplane paths and hundreds of miles from any shipping lanes. How they find rescue is the stuff of legend.
The real-life Tami Oldham penned a memoir of her ordeal, Red Sky in Mourning: A True Story of Love, Loss and Survival at Sea.
Look for Adrift in theaters June 1.
