The poster for Disney Animation’s highly anticipated Moana has dropped. Superstar Dwayne Johnson and new discovery Auli’I Cravalho’s characters are front and center. Cravalho’s title character and Johnon’s Maui stand proudly in front of giant wave.
Johnson revealed the poster on his Instagram account and the Furious 7 star clearly could not be prouder of his upcoming animated flick. The November 23 release is one of fall’s most anticipated and there is many who think that the latest from the studio that gave us Frozen and Wreck-It Ralph (and the filmmakers who gave us The Little Mermaid and Aladdin) will out-gross anything else that hits screens this upcoming holiday season. Yup, we know that includes Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
The film also stars Jemaine Clement, Rachel House, Temuera Morrison, Alan Tudyk and Nicole Scherzinger. It also features music by Tony Award winner (creator of Hamilton) Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mark Mancina and Opetaia Foa‘i.
Moana is the tale of a time thousands of years ago and follows an about a daring teenager who, with help from demigod Maui, sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and save her people.
