Fresh off that Doctor Strange poster premiere yesterday, Marvel Studios and Walt Disney has released the first trailer for the upcoming comic book hero making his big screen debut.
Benedict Cumberbatch stars as the titular hero, a first in the supernatural department for the legendary comic book studio. This is a true origins story and from the look of the below teaser, fans of the good Doctor should be ready to cheer.
Cumberbatch is the Sorcerer Supreme, and he’s joined by Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One and Benedict Wong as Doctor Strange’s devoted servant, Wong. Also in the cast, but in as-of-yet undefined roles is Rachel McAdams, Mads Mikkelsen, Michael Stuhlbarg, Scott Adkins and Amy Landecker.
Scott Derrickson has been tapped to direct and the helmer of The Exorcism of Emily Rose could not have been a better choice to make his big-time superhero movie debut, given the nature of the hero at the center of this tale.
Doctor Strange works his magic on November 4 in theaters everywhere.
