Lionsgate has released the first trailer for the Mark Wahlberg starring true story, Deepwater Horizon. The film chronicles Mike Williams and his heroic efforts aboard the oil rig that bears the film’s title when it exploded in a fiery disaster, back in 2010.
Peter Berg directs his Lone Survivor star in their latest true story collaboration that also features Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight), John Malkovich, Dylan O’Brien, Kate Hudson and Gina Rodriguez.
On April 20, 2010, oil workers were doing what they always do on the Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico when one of the biggest man-made disasters in history unfolded.
The film is based on the New York Times article by David Barstow. Look for it on September 30.
