Edgar Rice Burroughs’ 1912 novel, Tarzan of the Apes, is coming to the big screen once again and this time out, the lord of the simians has quite the pedigree behind it. David Yates (the helmer of the last four Harry Potter movies) is behind the camera, Alexander Skarsgard is the title character, The Wolf of Wall Street’s standout Margot Robbie (soon to be seen in The Suicide Squad) is Jane and an all-star cast supports.
The Legend of Tarzan follows Tarzan, now known as Lord Greystoke, years after he left the jungle. His wife (Robbie) and him are leading what appears to be a happy life. When the man formerly known as Tarzan is asked by Parliament to head back to his childhood home as a trade emissary, he quickly becomes aware – once in Africa – that he is a pawn in a game of greed and revenge.
That all-star supporting cast includes Samuel L. Jackson, Christoph Waltz and Djimon Hounsou.
Look for The Legend of Tarzan in theaters July 1, 2016.
