Jurassic World Dominion Teaser: Full Preview Plays Before Fast 9… Is It Friday Yet?

Universal Pictures has released a short, but quite impactful, teaser for their highly anticipated closing the trilogy motion picture, Jurassic World: Dominion.

The entire five-minute first look at director Colin Trevorrow’s closing chapter will exclusively appear before IMAX showings of Universal’s F9 on June 25 before the 20-year franchise commences its ninth film.

Jurassic World: Dominion finds those pesky dinos roaming the mainland after their escape from Isla Nublar. It appears as if this teaser takes place when dinosaurs ruled the planet before that nasty asteroid saw their species’ demise. So, if I were to bet, it looks as if we go back to the Cretaceous period and probably learn a thing or two about the T. Rex that star Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire) lured with a flare from Jurassic World.

Howard returns to the fold, as does her potential love interest and general Velociraptor whisperer in Owen (Chris Pratt, reprising the role that contributed to his becoming a cinematic superstar). Also back is Omar Sy’s Barry Sembène and in a move that is sure to delight Jurassic fans globally, Sam Neill’s Alan Grant, Jeff Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm, and Laura Dern’s Ellie Stattler.

There are some new dinosaurs introduced in Dominion that reflect the advancements of paleontology since Jurassic Park debuted decades ago.

This teaser, however quick, still is jaw-dropping, based solely (for this writer) by the score of Oscar winner (for Up) Michael Giacchino—who also has provided the score for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Jojo Rabbit as well as Zootopia.

Universal is smart to air this look at Jurassic World: Dominion on IMAX screens exclusively. It’s a slam dunk that anyone who witnesses this preview will pay good money to see the third Jurassic World film on the biggest screen known to humankind.

We are also thrilled to Trevorrow has returned to the director’s chair after Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was helmed by J.A. Bayona.

Joining the cast is Mamoudou Athie, Daniella Pineda, Scott Haze, Dichen Lachman, Campbell Scott, BD Wong, Isabella Sermon, and Justice Smith. Trevorrow not only directed by co-penned the script with Emily Carmichael, based on a tale from Trevorrow and Derek Connolly.

Jurassic World: Dominion lands in theaters June 10, 2022. We got a feeling that you’ll be visiting your local IMAX theater for this one!
