Borat 2 Trailer Teases a Triumphant Return of Sacha Baron Cohen

The first full trailer for the follow-up to Borat is here! Amazon just released our first look at the Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, but we can just call it Borat 2.

The sequel to 2006’s Borat has been a complete and utter surprise. Who even knew that star Sacha Baron Cohen (soon to be seen in The Trial of the Chicago 7) was filming a follow-up? Given how popular the first was, one always wondered if he would be able to play the gotcha guy ever again. That is teased in the first trailer, but he still walks around at parts of the film with that classic mustache and beige suit. Yes, there must still be a few people who don’t know who Borat is, and as such, we are able to get a Borat sequel!

The film is directed by Larry Charles and finds Borat Sagdiyev, the Kazakh journalist heading back to “Yankee land” in our most vulnerable hour. There is an election on the horizon, a pandemic is raging, and hope appears to be at a minimum. Seems like a perfect time for the wholeheartedly inappropriate journo to bring us some much-needed looks in the cultural mirror and some laughs.

Also, it appears that Borat has a daughter and he’s bringing her to the US as a present to a certain someone—his name is “pretty much” in the film’s long moniker.

Borat 2 will debut on Amazon before the presidential election, on October 23.
