Halloween Kills Premieres First Trailer: “The Essence of Evil,” A Burning Sequel is Coming Soon

“My grandmother was right, the boogie man is real,” so says Allyson (Andi Matichak) in the early moments of the first trailer for Halloween Kills. The highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 well-received Blumhouse take on Halloween.

Jamie Lee Curtis returns as Laurie Strode, whose connection to Michael Myers dates back to the very first Halloween movie which shocked audiences back in 1978. Also back is Judy Greer’s Karen, Strode’s daughter.

The trailer commences where the last film left us, witnessing Strode’s house burning like a tinder box. Thing is, Michael survived the fire, which was long planned as Strode’s plan of ridding herself and the world of evil incarnate. Looks like it will take at least two more movies to achieve that wish fulfillment.

Laurie got stabbed at the fateful conclusion to the last movie, so she’s stuck in a hospital recovering from a knife wound. She’s going to have help ridding the world of this masked maniac in the form of the entire Haddonfield community, who appears (according to the above teaser) to be taking this personally. You pick on one of us, you get the entire town!

Will Patton’s Deputy Frank Hawkins survived the 2018 movie (which is rare for Halloween’s law enforcement personnel!) and will return for the sequel. Joining the cast is a Brat Packer—Anthony Michael Hall, who will portray Tommy Doyle (captured by Brian Andrews in the 1978 flick).

Halloween Kills will hit theaters on October 15 with the final chapter Halloween Ends, landing on October 14, 2022. The entire trilogy will be helmed by David Gordon Green and written by Green, Danny McBride, and Scott Teems.
