Reminiscence Trailer: Hugh Jackman Asks Us To “Follow His Voice”

The first full-length trailer for the Hugh Jackman starring Reminiscence has arrived from Warner Bros. The flick is from writer-director Lisa Joy (Westworld), and its sci-fi action-centric feel centers on a private investigator Nick Bannister (Jackman), who specializes in working the mind. Wait, what, you ask?

He’s obsessed with the “one that got away” and convinced that someone just doesn’t “disappear.”

Bannister utilizes a technology that allows users (including himself, often) to relive memories from their past. It can be addictive because the present is not all that hot. Well, actually it is kind of warm, given that the polar ice caps have melted, and waters have risen everywhere.

Despite pleas from a Westworld alum, Thandiwe Newton, to just let it go, he keeps going down that past path hoping to find the answer to some burning questions concerning an ex named Mae (Rebecca Ferguson).

The film’s cast also includes another Westworld alum, Angela Sarafyan, as well as Cliff Curtis, Daniel Wu, Nico Parker, Natalie Martinez, Brett Cullen, Mojean Aria and Marina de Tavira.

Look for it in theaters and HBO Max on August 20.

The official synopsis for Reminiscence:

Nick Bannister (Hugh Jackman), a private investigator of the mind, navigates the darkly alluring world of the past by helping his clients access lost memories. Living on the fringes of the sunken Miami coast, his life is forever changed when he takes on a new client, Mae (Rebecca Ferguson). A simple matter of lost and found becomes a dangerous obsession. As Bannister fights to find the truth about Mae’s disappearance, he uncovers a violent conspiracy, and must ultimately answer the question: how far would you go to hold on to the ones you love?
