Bill & Ted Face the Music Trailer: Most Excellent

The wildly anticipated first trailer for Bill & Ted Face the Music has arrived! It features the super awesome duo (played by Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter) as middle-aged men who have forged a decent music career, even if they’re playing to small crowds currently. The thing is, they still haven’t written that song that will change the world as they were supposed to do when we last saw them.

Original scriptwriters Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon penned the screenplay, along with help from Reeves and Winter. That could easily explain that sense that this is a seamless link to a franchise we haven’t visited in decades. Awesome!

William “Bill” S. Preston, Esq. and Theodore “Ted” Logan are prompted to finally pen that world-changing son when an “event” occurs and it cases a clock to start ticking down … our boys are on the clock! Better get to work, fellas.

They’re not alone as in Bill & Ted Face the Music, they have their most excellent daughters with them, played by Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine. There’s also going to be some historical figures we haven’t met yet (keeping with the theme of the first two films) and it does look like Death is back as well from the above teaser.

Instead of writing this song that they’ve been tasked with, the boys head back into the telephone booth and rocket to the future to see what future thems have written, and then bring it back to the present. Boom, done!

The film was helmed by Galaxy Quest director Dean Parisot and also stars Scott Mescudi, William Sadler, Kristen Schaal, Holland Taylor, Jillian Bell, Anthony Carrigan, Jayma Mays, Erinn Hays, Hal Landon Jr., Amy Stotch, and Beck Bennett.

Bill & Ted Face the Music hits theaters on August 21.
