Wonder Woman 1984: It’s a Blue Monday, Alright!

The first trailer for the highly anticipated Wonder Woman sequel has arrived from director Patty Jenkins. First off, when you start with New Order’s Blue Monday you can practically label this thing awesome before it gets going.

Then, it does get going with Gal Gadot back as Wonder Woman and Diana Prince, respectively. The year is, surprise!, 1984, and this flick looks like they borrowed the production design from last season’s Stranger Things. And that is a compliment!

The teaser raises a lot of questions, as it should. First of all, what has happened to Prince since we left her in World War I and also, whatever occurs in this film will have to fit into the landscape established in Batman v Superman and Justice League. Second, how is Chris Pine’s character still alive? I’m so sure they will answer the latter question and it will all make sense in a superhero/comic book kind of way.

Also featured in this trailer are our antagonists—Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal. The latter is Max Lord and Wiig will be an arch enemy of WW’s, Cheetah.

Wonder Woman 1984 lassoes its way into theaters June 5, 2020.
