The new Cats trailer is here! Where the first teased the obvious—the song Memories, as belted out by star Jennifer Hudson—the second gives us a little bit more of what the story is about. That’s important, because not everyone has been able to make it to Broadway or even be in possession of tickets when the touring production comes to town.
One thing that immediately jumps off the screen is this cast. Hudson and her pipes of gold are joined by James Corden, Idris Elba, Judi Dench, Rebel Wilson, Taylor Swift, Ian McKellen, Jason Derulo and Francesca Hayward. The flick is helmed by Oscar winning director Tom Hooper. He previously directed The King’s Speech to Oscar gold and his musical pedigree is top notch, due to his work on Les Mis.
Cats is an Andrew Lloyd Webber gem and has been a musical theatre stalwart since it premiered in the 80s. Look for it to purr its way into theaters on December 20.
