47 Meters Down Uncaged Trailer: You Wish You Were In a Cage!

The latest (and we suspect final given the movie’s August 16 release date) trailer for 47 Meters Down: Uncaged has arrived. It shows off its youthful cast, including Sistine Rose Stallone, Corinne Foxx, Sophie Nélisse and Brianne Tju. They decide to do something off the beaten path and at first it appears to be one delightful little foray underwater into some brilliant exploration opportunities. The film is the unexpected sequel to the 2017 mild hit 47 Meters Down that featured Mandy Moore and Claire Holt as sisters who wind up stuck at the bottom of the ocean in Mexico. See, the wire that connects their shark cage to the surface broke and there’s a finned fiend circling them who has made it their mission to make the two girls their lunch … or is it dinner?

It was a mid-level hit, what with the budget coming in at around $5 million and when all was said and done the thrill ride had banked $63 million internationally. So, needless to say, a sequel was green lit … a new cast was hired, and audiences were told to ready for another undersea adventure that will make you “wish you had a cage!”

The film is helmed again by Johannes Roberts, who also co-wrote the first one in addition to directing it and he serves the same roles this time around.

As is the case with most sequels, filmmakers have clearly amped up the peril, what with twice as many ladies doing the diving and this time out … removing the shark cage all together. What gets us also about the above trailer is it is not just that they are trapped underwater, it is where they are trapped. It appears that they have to go through a maze, just to find their way to the surface—all while a great white is waiting …
