Bond 25 Set Video: Daniel Craig is Back as Bond!

Bond 25 has not had the easiest of times getting going, what with Danny Boyle (Yesterday) dropping out of the director’s spot and being replaced by Cary Joji Fukunaga. I adore Boyle, but think the sensibilities that Fukunaga brings to a film will elevate the Bond franchise to unforeseen heights.

Daniel Craig’s return to the role he was born to play had an issue as filming commenced. The actor hurt his ankle on the Jamaican set and had to have minor surgery back in May. Bond 25 is back in business and to show fans that things are finally going swimmingly, producers have released a behind-the-scenes set video. Not only does it give us cinematic proof that the film is up and moving and in great hands, but what I see so far has me even more eager to check out this 25th edition of the spy with the license to kill.

Specifically, the look of the footage is stunning. The Oscar-winning La La Land and First Man cinematographer Linus Sandgren gives the decades-old series a fresh look and it has employed a color spectrum that is rich and unique for the Bond franchise.

Jeffrey Wright is back as Felix, Bond’s CIA pal and I always adore when these two characters are central to the story. Live and Let Die is among my favorite Bond flicks (besides having the Bond theme). Bond 25 also stars Naomi Harris (back as Moneypenny), Ralph Fiennes (back as M), Lea Seydoux, Ana de Armas and recent Oscar winner Rami Malek as our villain. Look for it April 6, 2020.
