Stuber Red Band Trailer: Kumail Nanjiani & Dave Bautista Join Forces

After a triumphant Stuber trailer teased the action/comic chemistry of its leads in early April, Fox has unveiled a red band teaser to let wider audiences know what kind of fun they’re going to have when the flick lands in theaters July 12.

After witnessing that first teaser, Stuber became one of my most-anticipated flicks of the summer. The comaraderie of Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick) and Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy, Volume 2) looks off the charts.

The flick follows Nanjiani, an Uber driver, who picks up Bautista’s LAPD officer and basically must take him all over Los Angeles as he works a case. Along the way, our passive Uber driver may have shot someone (Bautista is so proud!), comes up with ideas with how to cause explosions and overall, finds a side of himself he never knew he had.

The Big Sick star (and co-writer) is set to have one heck of a summer. Before Stuber lands on screen in July, he provides the vocal talent for a tiny little alien character in the highly anticipated Men in Black: International.

Stuber could very easily be one of those out-of-nowhere summer comedies that blows up at the box office. Audiences crave humorous flicks that have wildly original premises and that this film has in spades. It’s been years since Uber and Lyft landed on our shores to usher us from place to place and yet Hollywood hasn’t given us a comedy where the occupation of Uber driver is used as a catalyst to our hilarity.

The flick also stars Betty Gilpin, Jimmy Gilpin, Natalie Morales and a fellow Guardians of the Galaxy veteran in Karen Gillan.
