Maleficent: Mistress of Evil Trailer Teases Disney’s Sequel

The success of Maleficent should not have surprised anyone, given that it featured one of Disney’s most loved/hated villains in the Sleeping Beauty antagonist and had pitch perfect casting with Angelina Jolie.

The fact that there is a sequel coming to that film is somewhat of a surprise. Sure, we knew when the film started production. I’m more speaking on a broader scale that this is a story that showed an already-told story (Sleeping Beauty) from another point of view (Maleficent). But what has taken me aback is that who knew that there was more to the tale of the evil doer and what came after the events of the Disney 1959 animated classic.

Walt Disney has unveiled the first trailer for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and we are quite intrigued. It also finds Elle Fanning returning to the princess role she originated in the 2014 smash hit, along with Sam Riley reprising his
chilling embodiment of a crow who does the Mistress of Evil’s bidding.

Also starring in the October 18 release—just in time for Halloween—is Michelle Pfeiffer, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Harris Dickinson, Ed Skrein, Imelda Staunton, Lesley Manville and Juno Temple.
