There is over the top and then there is what is teased in the latest trailer for Hobbs and Shaw, a Fast & Furious spin-off.
The latest trailer for Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham’s pairing, that should have action aficionados drooling, finds the envelope pushing action truly tearing the envelop apart!
Universal Pictures is presenting its first spinoff of the Fast & Furious world and yes, the casting of Statham and Johnson together does get the blood pumping in anticipation for the actioner that will arrive this summer.
What else has us intrigued is the villain in this puppy. After all, a movie like this is only as good as its bad guy (or girl!). This time out, it’s Idris Elba’s genetically engineered super soldier. Looks like from what is teased in the Hobbs and Shaw trailer above, it’s going to take a lot more than Johnson and Statham’s characters to bring this bad guy down.
Also appearing in this trailer is the Oscar winning and esteemed actress, Helen Mirren, who first appeared as Statham’s onscreen mother in the last Fast and Furious movie. Perfect casting, that much is true.
Look for the crazy to go through the room when Hobbs & Shaw hits theaters August 2.
