The official Toy Story 4 trailer has landed, finally!
Toy Story 4 picks up soon after the close of Toy Story 3, which found our boy Andy all grown up and no longer in need for his beloved toys. So, he gave them to Bonnie. Everybody seems to be doing fine with the adjustment, and then things are thrown into a whirlwind when Bonnie brings home a new toy that she made—a spork who has been given eyes and a mouth from some sort of craft project.
To say that Spork has been fine is a gross exaggeration. He’s having issues with the fact that he’s a toy and not an entity used for food delivery! Tony Hale of Arrested Development fame voices the new character in a stroke of casting genius.
As you can see from the above trailer, Toy Story 4 is a road trip movie in many ways. Bonnie and her family hit the road and Woody and Spork end up jumping out of the moving RV and the crux of the picture follows their effort to find Bonnie and the remaining toys doing the same—trying to find their old friend and their new friend.
We also see that Bo Peep (Annie Potts) returns and some emotions emerge from this trailer too. After all, those Toy Story movies are nothing without moving our emotions. Looks like this time around we’re going to explore nostalgia, loss and answering questions about what it means to be young and possess and endless imagination.
Tom Hanks and Tim Allen return as our titanic duo, Woody and Buzz Lightyear. Also back are a slew of familiar voices, including Pixar regular John Ratzenberger, Joan Cusack, Don Rickles, Estelle Harris, Wallace Shawn, Jeff Pidgeon, and Blake Clark.
Look for Toy Story 4 June 21.
