The second Rocketman trailer has arrived and besides the brilliance that is Taron Egerton tackling the title role of Elton John, one other thing rises to the surface—that boy can sing!
The John biopic, that is described as a fantasy (and the only way to tell his tale), arrive in the opening weeks of summer movie season—May 31. That is a bold statement in and of itself. It means that Paramount Pictures firmly believes they have a hit on their hands and from the looks of this second teaser, they could not be more correct.
The film portrays the piano man as a larger-than-life pop culture figure (which he clearly is) who started out as a overweight boy in the suburbs of England who managed to battle back his demons and embrace his talent and take over the world of pop music.
I, for one, absolutely adore the tone that director Dexter Fletcher employs in Rocketman and cannot wait to see the biopic done like we’ve never seen before.
Rocketman also stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Jamie Bell, Gemma Jones and Richard Madden.
