Mission Impossible News: Christopher McQuarrie Signs for Two More Missions!

It is a piece of news that should delight all those Mission Impossible fans that flocked to theaters to see the latest—and greatest—of the Tom Cruise starring actioners, Mission Impossible: Fallout. Yes folks, Christopher McQuarrie will return as the writer and director of the seventh and eighth chapter of the Ethan Hunt saga that has pushed boundaries and changed the action-stunt world forever.

Cruise is not getting any younger and smartly, for everyone involved, the titantic talent tandem that is McQuarrie and Cruise will be filming the next two Mission Impossible movies back-to-back. Instead of having to wait for years between flicks, audiences will get to get their Mission fill as Mission Impossible 7 will arrive in the summer of 2021 and Mission Impossible 8 looks to rock our world in the summer of 2022.

Fallout banked over $790 million, making the sixth installment the most profitable of the series. It was also the most critically lauded of the franchise (landing in our top 20 of 2018 countdown), landing on countless best-of lists and winning Best Action Movie at a myriad of award functions, including the Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society and the Critics Choice Awards.
