Hellboy Trailer: Reboot’s First Look!

The first trailer for Summit Entertainment’s reboot of Hellboy has landed. For those who felt that the previous versions didn’t quite get it, they should be thrilled that the new flick comes from a screenplay co-written by Hellboy comics creator Mike Mignola.

Also stellar is the casting of the titular character. Stranger Thingshero David Harbour takes the role of the demonic hero, while Deadwood star Ian McShane scores in the part of Hellboy’s adoptive father, Trevor Bruttenholm.

Lost and Hawaii-Five-O star Daniel Dae Kim is Ben Daimio, someone right out of the Mignola-penned comics, and Milla Jovovich is our villain, Nimue—a sorceress whose goal is the utter destruction of the world we know.

Hellboy will be a R-rated version, something original film creator Guillermo del Toro shied away from. That rating is more in line with the comics and should have those who have followed the demonic protagonist since his early inception.

Hellboy also stars Sasha Lane, Brian Gleeson, Sophie Okonedo, Penelope Mitchell and Allstair Petrie. It opens April 12, 2019.
