The Secret Life of Pets banked $104 million during its opening weekend, on its way to a $875 million total global gross. Hard to believe that a film like that would get a sequel… NOT! Given that the first film’s directors—Brian Lynch and Chris Renaud—are back, as well as all of the voice cast, save one, anticipation should run high for the follow up.
The first “trailer” has arrived for The Secret Life of Pets 2 and kudos to Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures for grabbing the bull by the horns with this initial look at the sequel to an enormously successful animated treat. We stated that most of the cast was back, the one who isn’t is Louis C.K., who for obvious reasons was not asked back to reprise his role as Max. Stepping in is the always awesome Patton Oswalt and we get to meet him with a little trip to the vet in this charming initial look at a highly anticipated sequel.
Kevin Hart, Eric Stonestreet, Jenny Slate, Ellie Kemper, Dana Carvey, Kevin Hart, Bobby Moynihan, Lake Bell and Hannibal Burress (Tag) all reprise their roles and joining them in the cast are newbies Harrison Ford (!), Nick Kroll, Pete Holmes and Tiffany Haddish.
As you see in the trailer, further “character” teasers are upcoming… so look forward to many, many little teasers for the June 7, 2019 arriving flick.
