X-Men Dark Phoenix Trailer: I Have Seen Evil & I Am Looking At It Now

The wait is over, X-Men fans. The long awaited first trailer for X-Men: Dark Phoenix is here and from the looks of things, Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) has everyone all sorts of riled up.

Fox has released the trailer that is the fourth in this “new” series of X-Men movies, after First Class, the masterful Days of Future Past, and the slightly disappointing Apocalypse. With Dark Phoenix we have quite the character study that should prove to be beyond compelling on the big screen.

As we know from our years of witnessing X-Men movies, the character of Grey is on the side of the X-Men, but her road to confidant of Patrick Stewart’s Professor X and love interest to Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine was a rocky one. It will be a fascinating journey as fans know how this character winds up but have no idea how she got there.

The other fascinating thing about this new X-Men trailer is the appearance of one of the greatest actresses of her generation. Jessica Chastain is making her debut in this world as Smith.

Longtime X-Men scribe Simon Kinberg makes his directorial debut, taking over the series from Bryan Singer. The franchise is in great hands with Kinberg, who penned the screenplay for the film, as well as three previous X-Men films.

The superstar cast returns as well with James McAvoy returning as Professor X, Michael Fassbender is Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence is Mystique/Raven, Evan Peters is back as Quicksilver (who has stolen scenes in each of the last two films), Nicholas Hoult is Beast, Tye Sheridan comes back as Cyclops and Kodi Smit-McPhee as Nightcrawler.

Don’t miss X-Men: Dark Phoenix when it soars into theaters February 14, 2019.
