Schindler’s List 25th Anniversary Release Trailer: Now, More Than Ever

“Whoever saves one life, saves the world entire,” Ben Kingsley’s Itzhak Stern says in the timeless masterpiece from Steven Spielberg—that is sadly, given today’s headlines, quite timely.

To mark the 25th anniversary of the release of Schindler’s List, what I believe to be Steven Spielberg’s greatest achievement, a new trailer has been released to announce that the Oscar winning film will return to theaters on a day that also has its own powerful meaning—December 7.

The stunningly emotional film is the true story of Oskar Schindler (brilliantly portrayed by Liam Neeson). Schindler saved thousands of Jewish lives by putting them to work in his factory and shielding them from the Germans who sought to send them to concentration camps, and certain death.

If you notice in the trailer below, that teases the film’s re-release, it states, “now, more than ever.”

That could not be truer as current events finds our country placing children and immigrants in what are essentially concentration camps. As I stated, it is a timeless movie and as timely as ever.

Schindler’s List will land in theaters in remastered 4K, Dolby Cinema and Dolby Atmos. If that trailer is any indication, it looks supremely gorgeous.

Also, try watching the teaser above and not becoming a crying mess.

It hits home because of its subject matter, but also because the theme that permeates throughout—never again—seems to have been forgotten by a swath of the American population seeking to marginalize a single group in our society for the sake of elevating their own status in our country.

Schindler’s List won seven Oscars, including Best Picture and is widely considered one of the best cinematic achievements of all-time. On a side note, in my opinion, it is a celluloid constant reminder of the diligence people need to practice ensuring all are free from tyranny, discrimination and persecution.
