First Man Trailer Teases Epic Moon Landing: Riveting & Raw

The first trailer for First Man gave us the scope and feel of filmmaker Damien Chazelle’s (La La Land and Whiplash) take on the historic and heroic effort to put a man on the Moon. The second teaser for the epic film—starring Ryan Gosling as Neil Armstrong—ratchets up the riveting factor to eleven!

What sets this particular teaser apart from the first one is how it captures the sacrifice made on the ground for the triumph of the United States in space.

Lives were lost. Families were broken.

As Claire Foy—stunningly cast as Neil’s wife, Janet—says in the teaser, “You are going to sit those boys down, and prepare them for the fact that you might never come home.”

The Golden Globe winning actress truly captures the cost of the scientific advancement on the human level.

The Apollo 11 mission is one of human kind’s greatest achievements and as the trailer for First Man illustrates, it was successful due to the convergence of American ingenuity, unparalleled bravery on the part of our astronauts and the innate human need to pierce the sky.

First Man also stars Kyle Chandler, Jason Clarke, Patrick Fugit, Corey Stoll, Ciaran Hands and Ethan Embry. Look for it October 12.
