One of the best teasers of the year was the first Bohemian Rhapsody trailer that landed a few months ago and previewed the life story of Queen and its iconic singer, Freddie Mercury. How will Fox respond with its second trailer? The wait is over and dare we say, those behind the biopic of the legendary band have upped the ante.
For the first time, the teaser chronicles the rise of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band while delving into the private life of its enigmatic leader.
Some criticisms were attached to the first teaser that it didn’t explore Mercury’s bisexuality and death from AIDS. Well, both are certainly eluded to in this second Bohemian Rhapsody trailer and therefore its power is exponentially improved.
The film chronicles the rise of the British band and concludes with their triumphant performance at Live Aid.
Rami Malek stars as Mercury and could not have been a better choice. Sure, we would have liked to have seen what Sasha Baron Cohen would have done with the role when he was attached. But, this is a film that went through a few incarnations before it settled on the path where it current resides. One of those bumps was the firing of director Bryan Singer, who was replaced by Eddie the Eagle helmer Dexter Fletcher. Although when all was said and done, it appears that the former will be getting the final credit for helming the film!
Bohemian Rhapsody also stars Aidan Gillen, Tom Hollander, Lucy Boynton, Ben Hardy, Gwilym Lee, Joseph Mazzello, Allen Leech and Aaron McCusker
Look to be rocked when it lands in theaters November 2.
