The breakout star of Goosebumps is back as the trailer for Goosebumps 2 Haunted Halloween has bowed. No, we’re not talking about Jack Black (who actually is not in this sequel at all). We are saluting the return of Slappy, the walking and talking dummy with a penchant for evil mischief.
From the mind of R.L. Stine and his army of blockbuster books comes the second chapter in the Goosebumps cinematic world.
This time out, Stine has long left his house. It sits unattended and almost appears like a classic horror movie haunted house. In the trailer, we see a couple of kids enter the home and find something that no one was supposed to find—one of Stine’s books, Haunted Halloween. They open it, and bam! Slappy pops out and his wrath has begun.
There are all sorts of monstrous characters that emerge from the first Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween trailer. The highlight has to be… killer gummy bears!
Director Ari Sandel takes over the directing realms and works from a script from Rob Lieber. The film stars Jeremy Ray Taylor, Ken Jeong, Chris Parnell and Wendi McLendon-Covey.
Look to get Goosebumps on October 12 in theaters.
