The Happytime Murders NSFW Trailer: Melissa McCarthy & Puppets Push Limits

Prepare to laugh your behind off and then feel a little odd about the whole endeavor with the first trailer for the Melissa McCarthy-starring restricted trailer for The Happytime Murders.

The Jim Henson Company has always delivered us the most astute family friendly entertainment with his Muppets. From Sesame Street to The Muppet Show and their movies, heartwarming and hilarity have come at audiences hand-in-hand from the legendary production house. Here in 2018, they have made a 180 and it is to the benefit of adults everywhere, by the looks of this first The Happytime Murders.

McCarthy stars as a Los Angeles detective who works with her puppet partner to patrol the dark side of the city in a world that exists where puppets and humans live together, often times in very R-rated ways. After a series of puppet murders rock the city, McCarthy and her partner get to work and ruffle a few felts to get to the bottom of who is picking off puppets.

The teaser is brutally hilarious and after witnessing it with an audience, we have to say this thing has hit written all over it. The laughs continued long, like seriously long, after the final moments of the teaser.

The deviant and simultaneously delightful comedy is directed by none other than Brian Henson, head of the Jim Henson Company and a lead puppeteer. The Happytime Murders also stars Joel McHale, Elizabeth Banks and longtime McCarthy comedic teammate, Maya Rudolph

Look to go there when the insane comedy lands August 17.
