Who would have thought that the combination of Deadpool 2 and Celine Dion would add up so such music and movie magic?
Well, it does and the uniquely Canadian pairing of Dion (who won an Oscar for her song from Titanic) and Ryan Reynolds — back as Deadpool — is beyond brilliant.
The music vid for Ashes features Dion on a stage singing with those pipes that, as she puts it, go to 11, and our favorite sarcastically sensational superhero doing an interpretive dance to her latest sure-to-be-smash-hit.
First of all, the song is outstanding. And as DP points out at the end of the music video, is not worthy of a superhero sequel. “This is not Titanic. This is Deadpool 2,” Deadpool states.
Take it, buddy… because you have a gem of a hit that believe it or not — we could see qualifying for Best Original Song at next year’s Oscars.
Deadpool 2 hits theaters May 18 and stars Josh Brolin as Cable, our baddie, along with Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz, Brianna Hildebrand and Terry Crews.
