Crazy Rich Asians Trailer: Blockbuster Book Looks to be Blockbuster Movie

The first full-length trailer for Crazy Rich Asians has landed from Warner Bros. and director Jon M. Chu (Now You See Me 2, GI Joe: Retaliation, Never Say Never).

The film brings to life the bestselling book by Kevin Kwan. It chronicles the journey of Constance Wu as Rachel Chu, a Manhattanite who is living her own dream.

She’s got a successful career and the best of boyfriends in Nick (Henry Golding). Things become quite real when she goes with her guy to Singapore to attend a wedding and meet his family.

As you can tell by the teaser above, the family is “crazy” rich, as the film’s moniker infers. She compares him to Prince William, which he responds by saying he is more like Prince Harry.

There’s the overbearing, controlling mother and that is merely the tip of the iceberg she must navigate through if she is going to survive this trip with her dignity and her relationship intact.

Crazy Rich Asians also stars Ken Jeong, Michelle Yeoh, Gemma Chan, Lisa Lu, Sonoya Mizuno, Chris Pang, Ronny Chieng, Jimmy O. Yang, Remi Hii, Nico Santos and in a role that should make her a star… Awkwafina.

Look to go crazy with this cast and blockbuster book brought to life on August 17.
