How do you plan on celebrating America’s birthday this July 4th? If you are a fan of The Purge series, might I suggest heading to the theaters to see how it all began? Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions has unveiled the first official trailer for The First Purge.
This is the fourth film in the successful series that imagines a world where for one night a year, all crime is legal – even murder. James DeMonaco crafted The Purge in 2013 and it was a surprise smash. He also is the brains behind the subsequent sequels and we got to hand it to him for decided to go back to the beginning for the fourth chapter.
How exactly did The Purge come to be?
That question is violently answered with the film that stars Marisa Tomei (as the woman who it appears came up with this idea as a means of “saving this country.”
Gerald McMurray is the helmer this time around and he works his magic with a cast that includes Lex Scott Davis, Y’Lan Noel, Luna Lauren Velez and Joivan Wade.
