The red band trailer has just been unleashed by Universal Pictures for their sequel to the surprise hit of 2014, Neighbors. Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising finds our favorite parents, Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne, ready to sell their home and move out to the suburbs into a dream home to welcome a baby and raise their toddler. In the 30 days that the home is in Escrow… the most horrible thing that could happen does – a sorority moves next door. I know, not again!
Rogen and Byrne are back, and this time they have Zac Efron — the fraternity leader from the first film — switching sides and ready to “shut this (expletive) down!”
Leading the sorority battle is Chloe Grace Moretz, who could not have been better cast as the leader of the ladies who just want to have a good time. See, the university has clamped down on sororities throwing parties and the like, and the ladies of KN simply feel that that is sexist. So, they move off campus, to the detriment of Rogen and Byrne.
Dave Franco reprising his role from the first film, as does Ike Barinholtz, Lisa Kudrow and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Selena Gomez joins the series as well.
The first flick was shot for just under $18 million and went on to bank $270 internationally. Nicholas Stoller is back as helmer, who wrote the film with Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Andrey Jay Cohen and Brendan O’Brien.
Look for the battle to rage even harder the second time around when Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising lands in theaters May 20.
