The incredible true story of two twenty-something friends who become the most unlikely of arms runners during the Iraq War, is coming to the big screen. Warner Bros. has unveiled the first trailer for the promising-looking dramedy War Dogs, that features a killer duo in Jonah Hill and Miles Teller as the two friends who turn a little loophole into some serious bank.
War Dogs comes from Todd Phillips (The Hangover) and features Hill and Teller pitching the idea of selling arms to the U.S. government when they learn that the government is trying to encourage small businesses to get into the business.
Before they know it, they score a $300 million-plus deal to run weapons to the local troops we’re training in Afghanistan.
Think they are over their heads?
Phillips’ The Hangover star Bradley Cooper stars in the film that is based on the Rolling Stone article Arms and the Dudes by Guy Lawson. Phillips, Cooper and Mark Gordon are producing from a screenplay by Phillips, Jason Smilovic and Stephen Chin.
Look for Teller and Hill’s Dogs to be let out on August 19.
