The iconic character of the ape child has come a lone way since he debuted in Edgar Rice Burroughs’ 1912 novel Tarzan of the Apes. The boy who was born in the jungle and raised by apes is back on the silver screen and this time, he could not have a more perfect person playing him – Alexander Skarsgard.
Warner Bros. has released the latest trailer for The Legend of Tarzan, which arrives on screens July 1 from the director of the last four Harry Potter films, David Yates.

Here’s a synopsis:
The film begins years after the man once known as Tarzan (Skarsgard) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.
