The Angry Birds are flying from your mobile device straight to the big screen for their first movie! The Angry Birds Movie features an all-star voice cast taking flight as your favorite characters from the video game that changed everything. The popular game has been downloaded over two billion times. Yes, that’s a billion with a “b.”
Jason Sudeikis stars as Red, and he’s got a bit of a temper. Josh Gad (Frozen) is the always fast Chuck and Danny McBride could not be better cast as the somewhat always explosive Bomb.
Sony Pictures and Revio Entertainment unveiled their latest The Angry Birds Movie trailer and it gives us quite the tease for what to expect when the film soars into theaters on May 20.
Red has had enough of his anger getting the best of him, so he checks into an aviary anger management facility and things appear to be going well. Actually, they’re going. The film promises to get to the heart of the question, “Why are these birds so angry?”
Judging by the trailer above, that “angry” emotion is going to come in handy when a group of pigs show up and our boy Red knows they are not what they seem. Looks like Red, Chuck and Bomb will find their purpose and perhaps discover that a little cartoon anger, when used correctly, is not such a bad thing.
The Angry Birds Movie also stars Maya Rudolph, Bill Hader, Peter Dinklage, Keegan-Michael Key (who recently dropped his Keanu trailer), Kate McKinnon, Tony Hale, Jillian Bell and Christela Alonzo.
The animated feature is penned by Jon Vitti (The Simpsons) and directed by Clay Kaytis and Fergal Reilly.
