Often times a Kickstarter campaign for a film begins before any of the movie’s investors can even get a feel for what the movie is going to be. That is not the case for the Oklahoma-based filmmakers of The Harvesters.
Director Nick Sanford, with producers Laurie Cummings, Paul Lister, Andrew McDonald and James Oster have come together for The Harvesters and the film is heading to Kickstarter to raise funds for the project and the world has the pleasure of witnessing what kind of thrills you’re in for as they’ve released the opening scene of the film!
Check out the synopsis:
On Halloween in Baileyville, Oklahoma, a journalist who prides herself on objective reporting discovers that she is trapped in the middle of a series of horrifying murders and disappearances. When the terror intensifies and a countdown begins, the people closest to Jane are put in danger and her journalistic stance on “not becoming the story” is put to the ultimate test.
Horror fans are an impassioned group and no one in the film business gets as behind their favorite films like those who like a good scare. Now’s your chance to be more involved than ever and become part of the creative process with a team of filmmakers who adore the genre as much as you do. Clearly, these creative folks are on to something. They raised $7,300 in the first ten minutes of the Kickstarter launch.
The goal is $32,585 to pay cast and crew and to insure the production and as an investor, you will earn your very own IMDb credit!
The full production will get into full swing this spring and it is scheduled to be completed over an 18-day shoot. “I really want Oklahoma itself to be a distinct character in the film,” director Nick Sanford said. “It’s important that the feel of and spirit of this unique state really be captured.”
