The final chapter in the Ice Cube conceived Barbershop trilogy has just unveiled its first trailer. Barbershop: The Next Cut stars Cube as the owner of Calvin’s Barbershop and although years have passed, the feeling at the beloved hair cuttery has not changed.
Some things have changed though, the cast is expanding. Cedric the Entertainer is back, but he is joined by some female cutters, led by Nicki Minaj.
Malcolm D. Lee directs (The Best Man, The Best Man Holiday) in the story that picks things up 10 years after the last film took place. Even though the solidarity is never better at the shop, things in the neighborhood couldn’t be worse. The change that needs to happen has to start somewhere, why not in the Barbershop?
Barbershop: The Next Cut also stars Anthony Anderson, J.B. Smoove, Regina Hall, Sean Patrick Thomas, Eve and Jaszmine Lewis.
